A WOMAN who rescued a patient when he was being attacked at Chelmsford’s Broomfield Hospital has received an award.

Radiology administrator Roseanne Fleming raced into action after witnessing what was described as a “serious assault” on the victim.

She ran out to help the victim and managed to get him to safety behind locked doors.

Plucky Roseanne said: “As a member of admin you don’t expect to find yourself in that situation, but I feel very proud to have been able to help.

“I’d also like to thank the medical staff who rushed to help – what an amazing team we all are here.”

Police praised Roseanne’s bravery and how she cared for the patient until help arrived.

She kept the man conscious by talking to him and asking him to spell his name.

Roseanne was presented with a Star of the Month certificate by hospital operations director Joseph Hayward.
