A CLASSIC fairytale favourite will be brought to life this month as a drama group embarks on its annual mission to entertain crowds and raise cash for charity.

Pantoloons is performing Cinderella at Braintree Arts Theatre throughout the February half-term.

Pantomime fans of all ages are being invited to get involved in the inevitable laughs and revel in plenty of chances to boo and hiss.

Audiences will be able to show their support for Cinderella as she strives to overcome her wicked step-family and live happily ever after with Prince Charming.

Pantoloons is a Braintree-based group of like-minded actors who want to produce and perform pantomimes for the whole community to enjoy.

Every year the group puts on a free performance for an invited audience made up of local care homes and community groups such as Mencap and Gateway.

Pantoloons is also a member of the North Essex Theatre Guild and has scooped several awards for past performances, including best panto, best dame and last year’s best set design, dress and construction prize.

Four showings of Cinderella will be performed from Tuesday, February 18 until Saturday, February 22 at Braintree Arts Theatre, in Notley Road.

There will be no performance on February 21 and all of the shows begin at 7.30pm, apart from a matinee on February 22 which starts at 3pm.
