Braintree Council’s planning boss has urged residents to voice their concerns over the incinerator planned for Rivenhall Airfield.
Gabrielle Spray insists she and her colleagues at Causeway House remain opposed to Indaver’s plan for the waste disposal plant, primarily due to its impact on nearby villages.
The Environment Agency has revealed it has issued a draft permit for the incinerator and 35m chimney.

It is now holding a public consultation before it decides whether to give final approval.
Councillor Spray said: "We’ve always been opposed to the Rivenhall Integrated Waste Management Facility.
“We have concerns about the impact of the facility on Rivenhall, Silver End and surrounding areas.
“We know that the Environment Agency will soon be out to consultation and we’d encourage concerned residents to attend the public drop-in session and make their views known during the consultation.”
Members of the public are invited to speak to officers from the Environment Agency during a consultation event taking place at Rivenhall Village Hall today.
The event runs between 2pm and 7pm.
