A man has suffered serious injuries after he was stabbed in a town centre flat.
Police were called to Braintree High Street around 12.50am this morning (Friday, January 3) following reports a man had been attacked inside a flat.
Officers arrived to find a man in his 20s had suffered serious injuries.
He was rushed to Broomfield Hospital via ambulance.
Essex Police has confirmed a 34-year-old man from Braintree has since been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The force issued an urgent appeal to find Connor Nye, 24, from Braintree, who is wanted in connection with the incident.
He was later arrested.
Nye was said to have links to Harlow and Grays, and sometimes goes by the name Conor Methven.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We can confirm that EEAST responded to a call shortly before 1pm today following reports of an incident in High Street, Braintree.
"Two ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle were despatched and one patient was conveyed to Broomfield Hospital.
"An air ambulance was also mobilised and stood down."
It is understood the incident happened in a property near to where High Street ends at the junction with London Road, Clare Way and Pierrefitte Way.
Forensics have been seen searching a small hedgerow outside the property.
