A man, in his 30s is in hospital following a collision on a major road in Witham

A motobike and a grey Ford Focus were involved in the incident on Hatfield Road near the junction with Maltings Lane. 

Police and ambulance services attended the scene. 

A spokesman from Essex Police said: "We were called to Maltings Lane in Witham shortly after 7.40am today following reports of a collision.

"We sent an ambulance and crews treated a male patient at the scene before transporting him to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and care."

A spokesman for East of England Air Ambulance Service said: " We were called to reports of a collision in Maltings Lane, Witham, shortly after 7.40am this morning, Wednesday 27 November.

"A motorbike and a grey Ford Focus were involved in the incident.

"The biker, a man in his 30s, has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

"The driver of the car was voluntarily interviewed at the scene.
Anyone with information about this collision is asked to call 101 and quote incident 201 of Wednesday 27 November."

The road has since cleared.
