A car fire is causing long delays on the A12 this afternoon.
There are up to four mile queues on the southbound carriageway due to the incident, which occurred close to Rivenhall past junction 23 at Kelvedon.
One lane has been closed and emergency services are on the scene.
Drivers are warned to expect 30 minute delays.
A spokesperson from Essex Fire and Rescue Service said:
"We were called to a road traffic collision at 2:40pm on the A12 Southbound between Rivenhall and Witham (Junction 23-22). On arrival, crews reported that no one was trapped and worked to make the scene safe by 3:04pm.

There are also queues on the northbound side with onlookers.
