A GARDEN shed was set on fire after it was ransacked by thieves.
Essex Police is appealing for information about the burglary and arson attack, which happened in Speedwell Close, Witham.
Officers were called to a property around 12am on Thursday, September 12 to reports that a garden shed had been broken into and then set alight.
After the fire was extinguished, it was discovered that a bicycle and several boxes containing a three-figure sum of tools had been taken from the shed.
A mobility scooter had also been taken from a shed in the front garden.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Braintree’s Local Policing Team on 101 and quote the crime reference number 42/145983/19.
