TWO popular tourist destinations will be transformed into outdoor cinemas over the summer.

Cressing Temple Barns and Great Notley Country Park will be welcoming movie buffs over the next few weeks and showing a number of top films.

The starlight cinema events will see an LED screen set up at the beauty spots and visitors will be able to plonk themselves in front of it on their own blankets or chairs.

Cressing Temple Barns is showing The Favourite on Saturday, August 24.

The film is set in the early 18th century and follows the frail Queen Anne who occupies the throne and her close friend Lady Sarah who governs the country in her stead. The movie begins at 2pm.

Great Notley Country Park will be showing A Star is Born on Friday, September 6 at 7pm. The blockbuster retells a story about seasoned musician Jackson Maine and her love for struggling artist Ally.

Tickets for either film can be bought in advance or on the door.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own food and drink.Refreshments can also be purchased at both venues.

Organisers say the screenings will take place regardless of the weather.
