SUPER Troupers and Dancing Queens should head bring their Money, Money, Money along to Braintree Arts Theatre for an evening of top-class music and entertainment.

Thank Abba For The Music is a two-hour theatre spectacular which will take audiences back in time to the Seventies and Eighties when the Swedish quartet were at their peak.

The band shot to fame after winning the 1974 Eurovision contest and enjoyed years of success thereafter before finally disbanding in 1983.

Abba have sold more than 360 million albums worldwide and jointly share the record for most consecutive number one albums, which stands at eight.

Such has been the band’s success that their music was adapted into hit musical Mamma Mia!, which went global and was later turned into a film in 2008 with a sequel last year.

Thank Abba For The Music is one of a number of tribute acts dedicated to the band and the show promises to bring the glitz and glamour synonymous with the legendary band.

The show will feature a variety of Abba’s top hits, such as Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Take A Chance On Me, Mamma Mia, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! and Super Trouper.

The audience will be encouraged to participate throughout and are even invited to wear Seventies-style fancy dress.

An interactive video projection will also be used during the evening which will depict key moments throughout Abba’s musical career, together with clips of interviews from celebrities and music experts alike.

Members of the tribute band will be wearing stunning replica stage costumes and will even bring a light sprinkling of tongue-in-cheek Swedish humour to add to the authentic feel of the evening.

Tickets for the show, which takes place on Saturday, August 10 at 7.30pm, cost £19.50.

Proceedings get underway from 7.30pm but doors will open at 7pm.
