A WOMAN has died after falling ill at a health club in Braintree yesterday (July 9).
Emergency services were called to Bannatyne Health Club on the Springwood Industrial Estate yesterday morning.
The club was closed for a number of hours while ambulance staff worked at the scene.
It posted on its Facebook page yesterday: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, our Braintree club is currently closed.
"We will keep members and guests updated through social media and our other communication channels."
The club reopened around three hours later and is open as usual today (Wednesday, July 10).
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to an address at Springwood Drive, Braintree yesterday morning shortly before 9am following reports of a woman with a medical emergency.
"Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the patient died at the scene."
