UPDATE: Police reveal more about woman's death
A MURDER investigation has been launched by police after a woman's body was discovered in a Cowley property this morning.
A man was also found with serious injuries and has been taken hospital.
Police were called at around 5.11am to an address in Lytton Road.
Detective Superintendent Ian Hunter, head of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “This morning we have launched a murder investigation as sadly a woman has died.
“We are in the very early stages of our investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
“Members of the public will see an increased police presence whilst we continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
“We would ask anyone with concerns to please speak to one of our officers.”
