A DAY celebrating all things doggy was enjoyed by hundreds of people and their furry friends.

Hedingham Dog Day, organised by Selina Fitzgerald of Hedingham Hounds, was hailed a success as visitors enjoyed taking part in the dog show and browsing stalls.

Selina said the day was a fantastic success for both Hedingham Hounds and other local businesses and charities.

She said: The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

“It was lovely to see the community come together.

“The show was also supporting local businesses and charities which helped to raise awareness and vital funds.

“We had nearly 90 dogs enter, before the rain at 2pm.

“I would say around 300 people raised £550 after costs.”

The event was raising funds for Dogs For Good UK and Breya – a charity for a youngster with cancer – who received £275 each.

Selina added: “The weather didn’t put a dampener on things fortunately and I have had fantastic feedback from stallholders, volunteers and those who attended the show.”
