An historic bridge will be fully repaired and refurbished after planning experts gave the green light.
Braintree Council has approved Ringway Jacobs' bid to rebuild parts of the grade-II-listed structure in Bridge Street, Great Bardfield.
The applicant says areas of the bridge has deteriorated over time and will be rebuilt with bricks on a "like-for-like basis".
Ringway also says materials removed from the structure will be recycled where possible, however the bridge's overall appearance will not be altered.
A full road closure will be in place throughout rebuilding work and an alternative route for users will be decided at a later date.
