A MAN has been jailed after admitting to seven shoplifting offences in Braintree.
Daniel Braxton, of Saunders Avenue, Braintree, was jailed for a total of 20 weeks when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court.
The 37-year-old was arrested earlier this week by officers from the Braintree Community Policing Team who were patrolling in the town centre.
Braxton was wanted on suspicion of breaching a community protection notice.
He received 14 weeks for the seven shoplifting offences, four weeks for battery and two weeks for theft. The sentences will run concurrently.
Braxton must also pay £168.29 in compensation.
