A BISHOP spent time chatting to youngsters and played a leading role in an assembly during a visit to a primary school.
The bishop of Chelmsford, Stephen Cottrell, spent a day at Terling Primary School to speak to the children about his work.
The day began with an assembly which saw the bishop act out a story about 'Mr Grumpy' to teach the pupils about the importance of being kind.
He also taught the children about the things he wears such as his mitre, amethyst ring and purple socks before he took questions.
