Overnight closures will be in place along the A131 for the rest of the week.

Both sides of the carriageway at High Garrett will be closed between 8pm and 5am tonight, tomorrow and again on Friday.

The closure, which was also in place last night and on Monday, means the stretch of the A131 between Petersfield Lane and Braintree Road is completed closed to traffic.

A diversion is in place, with motorists able to travel along Braintree Road to Gosfield, onto Halstead Road through White Ash Green and into Halstead via Sloe Hill and Chapel Hill.

Drivers will be able to rejoin the A131 through Halstead at the end of Chapel Hill.

According to roadworks.org, the closure is in place to allow for pre patching work to take place in preparation for surface dressing of the road later this year.
