I CONCUR with calls for a statue of Keith Flint to be erected in the town centre to celebrate his life and connection with Braintree.
However this could not be anything but bold and innovative to reflect Keith and his unique contribution to the spirit of modern music.
Twice life sized, colourised bronze and replacing the old eroded drinking fountain on the plinth between Tesco and the Old Town Hall in Market Place.
In this ideal location it will inspire the town's young people to strive in a modern world where unique ideas are required to thrive as well as being a meaningful tourist attraction amid a sea or bland simulacrum.
Instead of Braintree Council saying there is no money in the cultural budget, explore the idea of crowdfunding across the globe to make this a reality and do not compromise with safe boring ideas.
Dare to be different, as was Keith.
Don Trower, Braintree
