Temporary traffic lights are in place while gas repair work takes place.
Supplier Cadent has been carrying out the work in Coggeshall Road, Braintree, since yesterday (March 13).
According to roadworks.org, the supplier has until next Thursday (March 21) to complete to repairs.
Drivers using Coggeshall Road are advised to leave extra time for their journey.
The lights have already caused delays for drivers during this morning's rush hour, with motorists stuck in long queues along Coggeshall Road.
Cadent has been contacted for comment.
