A teenager caught carrying a knife while under the influence of drugs has avoided an immediate jail sentence.
Liam Dee, 18, admitted being in possession of a lock knife and small quantity of cannabis in Trotters Field, Braintree, when appearing at Colchester Magistrates Court last week.
Dee, who is a resident of Trotters Field, was handed two concurrent jail sentences of three and 12 weeks for the offences, with both suspended for 12 months.
Magistrates also ordered him to pay £200 in costs and undertake 80 hours of unpaid work.
