A PATIENT has been flown to hospital after falling unwell.
Residents reported seeing a number of ambulances in Witham this morning while an air ambulance landed in Powers Hall End.
The ambulance service has confirmed a patient has been taken to the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "Late this morning several ambulances and the East Anglian Air Ambulance based in Cambridgeshire responded to reports of a very unwell individual in Witham.
"The person was treated at the scene and taken by air ambulance to the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre in Basildon."
