SHOPPING centre bosses say it is business as normal as they work to remove a group of travellers from a car park.

A dozen caravans are understood to have pulled up to the car park in Charter Way, Braintree, late yesterday afternoon.

A group of travellers are alleged to have set up camp in the parking bays, which are owned by Freeport shopping outlet.

Centre manager Josef O'Sullivan says the car park remains open to the public as attempts are made to move the travellers on.

He said: "We are working with local partners and agencies to resolve the situation.

"The car park is open as usual for our guests."
