A NEW service has launched which means jet-setters can now travel directly to Stansted Airport by bus.

Arriva's 133 runs hourly between Braintree and the airport, calling at Felsted, Great Dunmow and Takeley.

It is partly funded by the airport and has been introduced as part of a scheme which is aiming to reduce carbon emissions.

The new fleet of two buses will also be added to other routes which serve Harlow and Bishop's Stortford.

Arriva marketing manager Craig Taylor said: "We are delighted to be able to introduce a new service to Stansted.

"Through our continued partnership with the airport, we are working together to reduce emissions and ensure our services are environmentally friendly."

The buses have free Wi-Fi and phone charging ports.

Stansted's Steve Mills said: "We are very proud to provide additional investment and support the introduction of new technology to improve choice, reduce emissions and drive down environmental impacts.

"This will help build on our position as the UK’s leading airport for public transport use by passengers."
