RAIL passengers are now able to pay online for station car parking after number plate recognition technology was rolled out.
20 station car parks on Greater Anglia's network, including Hatfield Peverel, Kelvedon and Witham are now using the technology.
The ticketless system means customers can now pay for parking online anytime until midnight the day after they use the car park.
By pre-registering car and payment details, money for parking can be taken automatically.
Blue badge holders will continue to park for free if they register with NCP online or by calling within 24 hours of leaving the car park.
The range of payment options for passengers using the car park are:
• Auto Pay accounts removing the need to visit the payments kiosks
• Cash, card, Google Wallet and Apple Pay will be available at the kiosk located outside the station - customers simply selecting their registration on their return to the station
• Post Payment is available online - payment can be made anytime up until midnight the following day
• Pay by Dash for daily, weekly, monthly or annual season tickets
• If a customer exits the car park or the short stay area within 20 minutes, their stay will not be recorded and no parking charge made
