BRAINTREE Town are due to head to Salisbury in the FA Trophy on Tuesday night knowing that an away tie at Carshalton Athletic awaits them if they are victorious in their rearranged first round tie.
The Iron were frustrated on Saturday when Storm Deirdre brought heavy rain to the West Country, causing the Salisbury pitch to be waterlogged and the tie had to be postponed.
The first-round game has been rearranged for Tuesday night (kick-off 7.45pm) and after Monday's lunchtime draw for the second round, both sides know that a trip to Bostik League premier division side Carshalton will be the reward on offer.
The Robins booked their place in the second round with a 1-0 home win against fellow Bostik League premier division side Dorking Wanderers at the weekend.
With further rain forecast for Tuesday in the west of the UK, though, Braintree have asked for a lunchtime pitch inspection to be carried out to save further unnecessary travelling for their players, staff and fans.
