GUITAR hero Peter Hoarty will be celebrating his 80th show dedicated to the six-stringed instrument later this month.

The Cinnamon Brow resident and member of the Warrington band Golden Eagles started Northern Guitar Shows 21 years ago after guitars and amplifiers began to take over his house.

It has been going strong ever since and The Merseyside Guitar Show at Aintree Racecourse Exhibition Centre on November 25 will mark the 80th event.

The racecourse is one of a number of venues Peter uses for the show throughout the year and he has been exhibiting there for 21 years.

Presented in the style of American table-top exhibitions, the show will feature four floors with more than 100 exhibitors, collectors and specialist traders.

There will also be live music, workshops and demos all day in the 300-seat music hall including a set from Aziz Ibrahim.

The former Stone Roses and Asia guitarist Aziz Ibrahim, will be revealing some of the secrets behind his multi-genre guitar wizardry.

Also on the bill are the Lucas Watt Band with guitarist Ben Rothwell, finger-picking guitarist Liz Owen and acoustic duo The Huers.

The Merseyside Guitar Show is on Sunday, November 25, from 10am to 4pm.

Entry is £7 on the door.
