LOOKING AHEAD: Great Wakering Rovers head to Grays Athletic in buoyant mood.

Rovers are one of the division’s in-form teams having triumphed in each of their last three games.

Wins against traditional big-hitters Canvey Island and Dereham Town as well as cup progress against another in-form team in Romford has boosted morale at Wakering.

They sit 10th in the Isthmian North, ahead of tomorrow opponents by a single point.

Following an early season run of five matches without a win, Grays are back on track and have not been beaten in any of their last five encounters.

A 3-1 win at Felixstowe & Walton United last time out proves Grays are not to be taken lightly.

MANAGER’S VIEW: “I am pleased with what we are doing but it is all down to the players,” said manager Garry Kimble. “They are working hard to implement our ideas and it is paying off.

“Our match at Grays will be the first time we have played on astroturf this season and it will be different, but we will stick to our plan and we need to not get beaten. A point is better than nothing but the way we are playing we can get a result.

“The mood is positive and Grays are the favourites but it is down to effort on the day and hopefully we work harder than them.

“I can’t praise the players enough and they deserve the accolades they are receiving.”
