Businesses have joined forces to create more than 60 jobs.
Alloy Fabweld Ltd, Parkhall Gosfield Ltd and Transporter Engineering have combined their heavy engineering operations to form one company, Hunwick Engineering Ltd.
It is believed the joint venture will expand the workforce by 60 or more, while the companies work on a joint 2022 business vision with the aim of extending apprentice programmes.
Shaun Pledger, MD of Alloy Fabweld Ltd and Will Ketley, MD of Parkhall Gosfield Ltd, said: “We have considered the positive and negatives of the Brexit status quo as part of our forward growth plans and mutually decided, unless driven enthusiastic businesses took up the mantle of developing and leading manufacturing change in the UK, what chance does the Government have of delivering success?
“We agree we are all in this together, whatever way individuals voted, let’s make the change a positive one for all the UK.”
The merger means all involved will benefit from large, modern workshop facilities at Gosfield Airield and expertise in both areas.
All other operations will remain with the existing businesses.
