Puppets will make their annual pilgrimage to Witham town centre this Saturday, September 15, for a day which will offer something for everyone to enjoy.

Witham Town Council will present the annual puppet festival with all sorts of fun taking place at the Grove shopping centre, the Newlands Centre, in High Street, the Cofunds car park and library.

The theme for this year’s festival is ‘wild and wonderful’ which means visitors should expect to see some fabulous flamingos, dancing dragons and maybe even a daring dinosaur.

Festival-goers should also make sure they watch out for walking trees.

In the library, youngsters will be able to enjoy storytelling throughout the day while craft workshops will take place in the Grove shopping centre.

Adrian Gillings, the centre manager at the Grove, said: “It’s great to be supporting the Witham Puppet Festival and we’re looking forward to seeing families enjoy the free acts and fun here at the Grove.

“Alongside seeing spectacular acts, families can also take part in the Grove’s free arts and crafts workshop taking place by the by the oak tree.”

As well as flamingos, dragons and dinosaurs, the Bookworms, Football Crazy and the Meanderthals will be among the other performers at the event.

Angie Mack will bring her hula hoop show to the event, while Jelly Roller The Dragon and Titan the Robot will make appearances.

“This free family event promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family.”
