THREE women were taken to hospital after a car overturned on the A12 yesterday afternoon.
According to Essex Police, the injuries suffered in the crash were minor and no arrests were made.
Drivers were left facing huge rush-hour delays after the incident on the Londonbound carriageway which happened near the junction for Witham North.
Tailbacks eventually stretched back as far as Marks Tey after the crash which happened at around 4pm.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Trust said: "Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer were called to an incident on the southbound carriageway of the A12 near Witham yesterday shortly after 3.45pm, following reports of a road traffic collision.
"Three women were transported to Southend University Hospital."
