An Antiques Roadshow style valuation day is being held in Kelvedon.

Auctioneers Lockdales is hosting the event at Kelvedon Labour Club, in High Street, on Tuesday, July 17.

In particular, experts are looking for collectables like coins, stamps, banknotes, clocks, watches, historic books and maps, as well as precious metals and militaria.

Following a valuation, members of the public can choose to consign their goods to be sold at a future public auction, or accept a cash offer from Lockdales.

Valuations will be completely free of charge without any obligation to sell.

Dan Daley, Lockdales director, said: "The valuation days are a great way for us to find unique and interesting items from the public.

"We have conducted hundreds of valuation days all over the UK and often turn up some very rare items at these events.

"At one event, a unique gold coin from the Dark Ages, was brought along where the owner was not aware of the value of it.

"We later sold it on its owners’ behalf at auction for over £19,000."

The valuation day takes place between 10am and 2pm.
