Controversial plans to build 60 retirement apartments will go to appeal early next month.
Churchill Retirement Living's plans for the complex, at the site of the former Bramston Sports Centre site, in Bridge Street, were rejected by Braintree Council earlier this year.
However the developer has applied to the Planning Inspectorate to overturn the decision.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the inquiry, which opens at Howard Hall Masonic Centre, Bocking End, Braintree, on Tuesday, July 3.
