Essex Traffic Control Centre (ETCC) has confirmed a road in Witham is closed because of roadworks.
Traffic is queuing southbound on Cressing Road, towards the roundabout at Rickstones Road.
There are also queues northbound on Braintree Road towards the same roundabout.
ETCC previously said the road was closed because of a police incident, but has now updated this.

Essex Traffic Control Centre reported an incident with Essex Police in attendance at 9.55am.
