Hundreds of pupils from eight schools are taking part in a huge artistic history project.

The Big Weave project, run by Braintree Museum and the Warner Textile Archive, has seen staff from the organisations hosting free interactive workshops at schools across Braintree.

At the workshops, pupils have the chance to create fabric tapestries using a real loom and weave their own piece of artwork.

Laura Worthington, education officer at Braintree Museum, said: “Braintree’s Big Weave is a great opportunity for pupils to get creative and develop their artistic skills as well as engage them with the town’s rich history of textile production.”
