A family run manufacturing firm raised nearly £900 for a children's charity with a series of fundraisers.

F R Shadbolt and Sons, based on the Springwood Industrial Estate, Braintree, held a set of monthly themed dress down days, raising £895 for PARC.

Over the past six months, the charity days have become popular with staff, and themes have included - tie and tash day, hat day, flower power and St George's Day.

The business is set to continue the events throughout the year to raise extra money for Great Notley based PARC, which provides play and respite opportunities for disabled children and their parents.

Organisers Amanda Farrow and Angie Rains presented a cheque to representatives from PARC last week.

Friederike Walter, marketing and events manager at PARC, said: "We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received from F R Shadbolt and Sons and their generous donation.

"As a small charity we rely on donations from local businesses such as F R Shadbolt and Sons and fully appreciate all the effort which has gone into their fundraising events.

"I was also treated to a tour of the factory which I thoroughly enjoyed."
