Refined plans for the development of Braintree town centre have been unveiled.
Braintree Council opened an exhibition into the latest set of proposals for Manor Street this afternoon at Braintree Town Hall.
Proposals include a GP surgery, a pharmacy, a 70-bed hotel, a brand new bus interchange as well as a car park which will hold both public and private spaces.
A total of 35 apartments are also set to be built and for the first time Braintree Council said it was speaking to two café restaurant owners in based in the area about the prospect of moving into the development.
Talks with the national hotel chain are said to be at an advanced stage, with the company working with Braintree Council and architects AHR on the designs.
A planning application is set to be submitted in April for construction to potentially begin in early 2019.

A provisional construction period has been given as two years.
The exhbition continues at the town hall, in Fairfield Road, until 7pm today.
