A historic estate has appointed two new trustees to its board.

Bill Conner and Bob Cowlin have taken on the roles within the Marks Hall Estate, Coggeshall.

In a career spanning more than 40 years, Mr Conner has worked in fundraising, marketing, sales and capital campaigns.

For the past 17 years he has been working on strategy and fundraising for educational and cultural charities, making him a perfect fit to join the board at estate.

Mr Cowlin has studied land and estate management for the last 40 years with Strutt and Parker LLP. As a private landowner, he has developed a 70 acre farm as a private nature reserve.

Rebecca Lee, general manager at Marks Hall, said: "We are delighted to welcome Bob and Bill to the Marks Hall Estate Board of Trustees.

"Our Trustees play a key role in securing the future of Marks Hall and are responsible for overall governance, as well as ensuring all activity is in keeping with the charity’s objects and delivers on our strategic objectives.

"All our Trustees bring with them a broad range of skills that help us protect and enhance this special place for generations to come."
