A man has been charged following an incident in Braintree which saw a 55-year-old man later die.
The victim contacted police following an alleged incident at an address in Courtauld Road yesterday, Wednesday November 15.
He was taken ill while at Braintree police station and sadly died a short time later, despite the efforts of officers and paramedics.
An investigation into his death is ongoing.
A post mortem examination, carried out yesterday afternoon, proved inconclusive pending further investigation.
Anthony Lines, 35, unemployed, of Courtauld Road, Braintree, has been charged with violence to secure entry to a property and criminal damage and has been remanded in custody to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, November 16.
Lines was also arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released on bail pending further enquiries in connection with this until Friday, December 8.
