A MARTIAL arts club is celebrating 10 years bringing families and friends together in Braintree.
The Martial Arts Centre was set up in 2006 and gradually grew before opening its first training centre in 2008.
Members now used a full time centre in Springwood Court, Braintree, and the centre has grown to create three small satellite clubs in the district.
To celebrate the 10 year milestone, the club held a special awards and demonstration evening at a packed out Braintree Arts Theatre.
David Wilson, chief instructor with the club, said: "I am proud of what our members and instructors have achieved and the way that we have grown is a testament to the professionalism shown by our senior members.
"We have a successful competition record but no one is forced to compete and we run our classes on the basis that we wish to give people confidence and sense of achievement in a disciplined but respectful environment.
"Our members have told us that the martial arts training has helped them in their school and work environment and we are proud that we are able do this."
The club runs classes for all ages and abilities in karate, kickboxing, Krav Maga and Royce Grace Jiu Jitsu.
