SOUTHEND Pier was invaded by zombies as part of the build-up to the Horror on Sea Film Festival in January.
The annual event, which is now in its fifth year, saw hundreds of people turn out dressed from head to toe in their best zombie outfits.
The walk kicked-off at the sea-end of the pier and the masses shuffled their way down the pier towards the Palace Hotel where there was an after party for everyone.
Prizes were awarded for the best dressed zombies as judged by specialist horror make-up company Silent Studios.
The event is organised by the White Bus Company, a film production and exhibition company based in Southend.
Paul Cotgrove, of the White Bus Company, said: “Every year Horror on Sea run this zombie walk to publicise the film festival in January.
“We had about 200 people turn up from little kids up to adults.
“This year was a fantastic turn out and it’s definitely an event that’s growing. People come down to do it as a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”
