A NUTRITIONIST and superfood chef has been touring her latest book around Essex.

Juliette Bryant, from Ridgewell, has just released her latest recipe book titled 'Divine Desserts - How to Have Your Cake and Eat It', which is a selection of puds that are free from gluten, refined sugar and animal products.

She popped in to The Natural Way, on Braintree High Street, on June 15 to show off some of her tricks and give those who came along a tasty treat.

Juliette said: "Lots of people came along, we sold lots of books and I put on an hour demo.

"For me eating healthy food is a really empowering thing.

"Food should be delicious but also healthy.

"I do not want this to just be about the elect few, the message is that this is for everyone."

She will now be taking the book on tour around the UK, before jetting over to the US, India and Australia to help promote healthier sweet treats.

Juliette runs workshops and classes for businesses and individuals and is passionate about promoting healthy eating - she will be hosting more workshops at The Natural Way in the coming months.

Her recipes take in knowledge she has learnt from around the globe and the majority of the desserts featured in her new book do not require an oven to make.

Juliette's Raw Fudge Recipe:

There is nothing like a bit of fudge, especially when it’s quick and easy to make and, most importantly, good for you. This is one of my favourites at the moment. No power or machines required.

To make 20 small pieces or 10 large;

1/2 cup nut butter

1/2 cup coconut oil (melted)

1/4 cup of maple syrup

1/4 cup of cacao or carob powder

In a bowl add the nut butter and the coconut oil and mix together until smooth. Then add in the maple syrup and mix again until it’s all combined. Finally, add in the cacao or carob powder and mix together.

Pour into a cake tin and place in freezer to set for 20 mins. Then eat and enjoy.

This would be best kept in the freezer if possible.
