WITHAM’s MP will be joining the Town Mayor in his daring challenge to raise money for charity.

Bill Rose said he would walk over the O2 Arena in London in a final bid to raise money for Brainwave in Witham and Children with Cancer at Great Ormond Street.

Witham MP Priti Patel said she will join him and be a part of the 16-strong team to walk across the roof of the London landmark.

Ms Patel said: “Both these charities do outstanding work to support children and their families- helping children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence, and fighting to treat the 4,000 children and young people who are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK, through investment in research and treatment.”

Gerry Gould, community manager at Brainwave and Maddy Alton from Children with Cancer will also be taking part.

Bill Rose, Town Mayor, said: “I am very grateful that Priti will be walking with me, it will be something new for the both of us.

“For her to take the time out to do this is something that is very much appreciated, and I hope it will benefit both charities.”

The walk will take place on Friday, April 15.

Anyone who wishes to sponsor the team can make personal or business cheques or donate by bank transfer.
