A male and female in their late teens suffered head injuries in a crash.
The incident involving two cars happened at around 9.30pm last night at the roundabout between Pod's Brook Road and the A120 in Braintree.
The female was trapped in one of the vehicles and two fire engines from Braintree rushed to the scene.
A spokesman for the fire service said one person was trapped but crews managed to free them without using cutting equipment.
A spokesman for the East Of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a collision between two cars, at about 9.30pm.
"A rapid response vehicle and two ambulances were sent.
"A man and woman in their late teens were taken to Broomfield Hospital with minor head wounds."
