Witham MP, Priti Patel recently visited the award winning West Street Vineyard in Coggeshall, to celebrate their success and the popularity of English wines.
Since developing the Coggeshall vineyard in 2009, owners Jane and Stephen Mohan have grown their business, which now hosts a popular restaurant and a wine-tasting centre on site, showcasing varieties from around the country.
The vineyard put Coggeshall wine on the map when it fought off competition from more than 3,000 wines from 36 countries to win the Bronze Award in the prestigious 2015 International Wine Challenge.
Ms Patel, who has been a long standing supporter of local business, said: “It is fantastic to see a local family run business such as West Street Vineyard beating off stiff competition to win such a prestigious award. The achievement is testament to the hard work and commitment of Jane and Stephen.”
