A woman trapped in her house by a wheelie bin for a whole day has spoken of her annoyance.
Mum-of-three Vicky Wiseman, of Coronation Avenue, in Braintree, was diagnosed with arthritis of the spine two years ago.
She is often in pain and struggles to walk, and has been reliant on a mobility scooter since July.
Mrs Wiseman, a former Notley High School pupil, tried to leave her house on Friday with her two young children at about 8.15am.
However, the bin men had left her wheelie bin so it blocked the gateway at the entrance to her property.
Mrs Wiseman was unable to move it and her children were too young to shift it.
Her neighbours were away and other friends at work, so there was no-one who could move it for her.
She said: “The bin men are supposed to put the bin back where they collected it from, but they didn’t.
“There was no way I could move it or my children."
Braintree Council have apologised.
