You usually hear chants at football stadiums but this Sunday there will be carols by floodlight instead at Braintree Town Football Club.
The Iron and local churches will be hosting the event to mark how enemy soldiers downed arms on Christmas Day in 1914 by exchanging food, cigarettes and souvenirs and playing football.
Free admission and parking. Refreshments available.
There will be a collection for relief work in Syria.
