A popular train station worker has been awarded for his outstanding customer service.
Wayne Claydon, who Braintree Station commuters will know as the friendly face at the ticket office, was nominated by regular passengers for National Customer Service Week in October.
During the nomination process, one passenger said: “I nominate Braintree Station and especially Wayne, who is always happy, friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help all.”
Mr Claydon has worked at the station for 33 years and his customer service skills even extend to caring for Colin, the station cat, who Mr Claydon comes in to feed on his days off.
