Up to 40 jobs could be created as plans to build a care home on a former milk depot look set to go ahead.
Braintree Council officers have recommended that councillors approve Eastern County Care Limited’s plans to build a 45-bed care home on the former Dairy Crest site at the corner of Coggeshall Road and Marlborough Road in Braintree.
Dairy Crest closed the site in 2011 and relocated some staff to Tiptree and Bishop’s Stortford in a bid to reduce running costs.
The care home, which would be part two-storey and part three-storey, would cater for residents who require dedicated dementia care.
It would also have a manager’s office, reception and a basement including the kitchen, laundry room, staff room, cinema, hair salon and café.
