Young authors have had their work published.
William Wallis, 12, and Chloe Rigby, Shannon Smith and Betsy Goodfellow, all 13, had their work selected for an anthology called Tales With a Twist.
New Rickstones Academy in Witham, where they are all pupils, and Honywood Community Science School in Coggeshall were the only schools in the area to have work included in the book, which was put together with children’s work from across the country.
Jane Earley, who runs the school’s writing club, said: “We have many talented and creative minds here.
“Some of our students are already working on their first novels, from a swashbuckling sea adventure to an espionage story set in contemporary London.”
