A family was forced to return home early from a weekend away after a fire broke out at their farm and destroyed their yard.
Flames ripped through two outbuildings, a car and a forklift truck in the yard, in Hollies Road, Bradwell, owned by Angela and Steven Woodhead, who were staying at their caravan in Harwich when they got a call from a relative urging them to return home.
Mrs Woodhead said: “It was foggy but you could see a glow and smell the fire, there was thick smoke everywhere.
“We’re just glad no one was hurt, it doesn’t matter about the material things in the end, it’s just the people and animals you don’t want to see hurt."
More than forty firefighters battled the blaze after being called to the scene just after 1.15am on Sunday morning.
