A mum is holding a charity event to give her daughter the chance to swim with dolphins before it is too late.

Saharrah Fretton, 7, suffers from conditions including gene defects, epilepsy and behavioural problems, and is not expected to live beyond 11.

She can have up to 40 seizures a day and only sleeps for three hours at night.

There are also concerns that her eyesight might go and her mother, Laura, 29, wants to raise enough money for her to swim with dolphins before this happens.

Laura, of Trinovantian Way, Braintree, said: “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for her, even more so because we don’t know when her eye sight could go.

“We know that it is deteriorating and have been warned that it could go at any time.”

She is hoping to take her daughter to Turkey, where it costs £4,000 for the opportunity, and she believes they need to raise a further £2-3,000 after previous fundraising efforts.

She has organised a disco at Jardins, Braintree, with DJs Powelley and Chapster, on Saturday from 7pm until 12.30am.

There will be also be a licensed bar, appearances from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, a raffle, a bouncy castle and an auction.

Tickets are £5 and are available from The Pub, next to Jardins, or from Saharrah’s Facebook page which can be found by searching Facebook for ‘Saharrahs Trust’.
